Tiger Woods has been involved in a car crash in Jupiter, Florida, in which, a vehicle was left flipped on its side. The Martin County's Sheriff's Office confirmed that the crash happened at around 2pm local time, in the same town in which Woods lives.

A photograph from the scene also shows a vehicle laying on its driver's side. Details pertaining to how the crash occurred, as well as Woods' condition are yet to be determined.

It is understood that police are currently investigating the incident, and a county sheriff is expected to speak with the media at 5pm ET. It comes after Woods was involved in a one-car crash in southern California in 2021, in which, he was left with significant leg injuries when his vehicle rolled several times.

He later had surgery on 'open fractures' to his right leg, had a rod installed in his tibia, and screws and pins added to his foot and ankle. He also had another surgery on injuries relating to the crash in April 2023.

It comes as Woods has been working toward his grand return to the sport of golf, following a year-long lay-off due to various injuries. The 50-year-old's last competitive outing came in the form of the 2024 Open, in which, he failed to make the cut.

Woods then had lumbar disc replacement surgery, before suffering a further setback in the form of a ruptured Achilles tendon last year while training ahead of the Masters. Recently speaking about a potential return to the game at Augusta National next month, Woods said: "I said I've been working on it.

"Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days. Disk replacement is not a lot of fun.

"So as I said, I've had a lot of procedures prior to that, so the body doesn't quite heal like it was when I was 24. Doesn't quite bounce back. So I have good days when I can pretty much do anything, and other days where it's hard to just to move around."

Woods also this week played at the TGL Finals with his Jupiter Links Golf Club. Unfortunately for the star, his team lost 9-2 against Los Angeles Golf Club on the night.

Speaking further about a potential return in time for the Masters, Woods explained: "I've been trying, this body doesn't recover like it did when I was 24, 25. It doesn't mean I'm not trying; I've been trying for a while.

"I've had a couple of bad injuries last year that I've had to fight through and has taken some time. I keep trying - I want to play. I've loved the Masters tournament, I've loved being there since I was 19 years old, so it's meant a lot to me and my family over the years and I'm going to be there either way."

Speaking about how playing at TGL was, he continued: "It was fine physically. We got our a** kicked at the end.

"Three eagles in a row, we didn't respond. I missed a short one to kind of get it started and give them momentum and we never got it back."
