The Capture's Ben Miles has teased details of the "thrilling" new series of the BBC programme.
The actor portrays Commander Danny Hart in the drama about the world of deepfake technology, which returned for its eagerly awaited third series earlier this month, four years following its second run.
Appearing on The One Show, Ben shared a few morsels about what audiences can anticipate from the latest episodes, revealing: "Things never get any easier in The Capture, they just get more and more complex and exciting."
Series three resumed a year after Rachel Carey (Holliday Grainger) transmitted a deepfake of a government minister, which revealed the UK intelligence service's covert video manipulation programme, reports the Mirror. She is now acting commander of Counter Terrorism Command, a position that previously belonged to Hart.
Ben told presenters Clara Amfo and JB Gill: "My character Danny Hart got himself out of it at the end of the last season, he said, 'I've had enough' - he just couldn't deal with the kind of immorality of the whole thing. So he's kind of in the shadows, kind of enjoying the life of sort of corporate consultancy, bit of golf probably."
"But there's something happens in this series that draws him back in and he can't help but get himself involved again in order to try and fix it once more.
"This show, I mean the previous two seasons were brilliantly layered, but this season three has so many fabulous layers to it," he continued.
"At the end of each episode, there's always that moment you go, 'No, but I thought...' and every episode ends with this kind of cliffhanger."
The actor went on to say: "I can't really tell you that much more about it because you'll just have to watch it, but it is very layered, it's very thrilling."
Ben also offered his views on Hart's connection with Carey. The two characters embarked on an affair but have since parted ways, though the actor revealed that some "tension" remains between them.
"I guess there is an element of some may see of kind of, is there something still there?" he said.
"Danny Hart would like to think so, but in reality, I don't think so. I don't think he's in the running anymore, I really don't!"
