BARC Recruitment 2026: India's premier nuclear research institute, the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), has announced Research Associate Fellowships for the year 2026. Through this recruitment drive, eligible candidates will be selected for Research and Development (R&D) activities across various scientific departments, thereby further strengthening the country's scientific landscape.

Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualifications: For Research Associates (Ph.D. Projects), candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline. This includes fields such as Chemistry, Physics, Polymer Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Materials Science, and other related areas. Meanwhile, for Project Number 21 (Muon Tomography), candidates must possess a B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E. degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or allied branches; additionally, a minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.

Experience: It is desirable—and will be given preference—for candidates to possess post-Ph.D. research experience in the relevant field. This experience must align with the specific requirements of the project. It is important to note that candidates who have merely submitted their Ph.D. thesis but have not yet completed the evaluation process will not be considered eligible for this recruitment.

Age Limit: No specific age limit has been prescribed for this recruitment drive. However, candidates are required to fulfill the prescribed norms applicable to BARC/DST fellowships for the Research Associate position; only upon meeting these criteria will they be deemed eligible to apply.

What is the Salary?
