Noida/Jewar: Today a golden chapter has been added to the development of Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today prepared at a huge cost of Rs 11,200 crore Noida International Airport (DXN) Inaugurated it and dedicated it to the public. This airport built in Jewar will not only change the face of Delhi-NCR, but it will also make its mark as Asia’s largest transit hub. With the inauguration, UP has now become the only state in the country with five international airports.

Plane will fly every two minutes, youth will get flight

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi said that this airport is a living example of the new work culture of ‘New India’. While sharing a big information, he said that the capacity of this airport will be so tremendous that from here one plane every two minutes Will be able to fly. The PM said that this project will open thousands of new avenues of progress for the farmers, businessmen and youth of Western UP. He also quipped that Noida used to be an ‘ATM of loot’ for the previous governments, but today it is a powerhouse of development.

CM Yogi expressed gratitude, targeted the opposition

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the Prime Minister on behalf of 25 crore people of the state. CM Yogi said that when the world is facing the crisis of war and rising oil prices, PM Modi’s visionary decisions have kept the supply and prices stable in India. He thanked the PM for the decision to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel and said that the ‘developmental bottleneck’ which UP was a victim of before 2017, has now been completely eradicated by the double engine government.

India’s ‘smart’ preparations amid global crisis

Referring to the ongoing turmoil around the world and the war in West Asia, PM Modi reassured the countrymen. He said that the government is putting all its efforts so that the burden of the global crisis does not fall on Indian families. Despite the shortage of fertiliser, oil and gas, projects like Jewar Airport, Noida’s Semiconductor Factory and ‘NaMo Bharat’ train are proof that India has now become technologically self-reliant and ‘smart’ in terms of connectivity.

Things about Jewar Airport that make it world class

The runway of this airport is 3,900 meters long, which can easily handle the world’s largest aircraft. A special maintenance and repair (MRO) center spread over 40 acres has been built here, which will become a major center for repair of foreign aircraft. Apart from this, the 80-acre multi-modal cargo hub will provide direct global connectivity to the manufacturing sector here, which will give rocket-like speed to import-export.

From 2001 to 2026: Journey from dreams to reality

The dream of Jewar Airport was seen in the year 2001 by the then CM Rajnath Singh. After this, Zurich Airport got the tender in 2019 and in 2021, PM Modi laid its foundation stone. Tata Projects started construction in June 2022 and it received the code ‘DXN’ in September 2023. IndiGo’s first testing flight landed on the runway on 9 December 2024 and after getting all the security clearances in March 2026, today, on 28 March 2026, PM Modi created history by grandly inaugurating it.
