The horrific bus accident that took place in Umranala in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh has shocked the entire state. The story of 5 year old innocent Vansh of Shivnagar Colony and his maternal grandfather Kamal alias Khemraj Dehariya, who lost their lives in this accident, made everyone emotional.

Breaking the age-old tradition, instead of burying the innocent child, the family lit the funeral pyre on his maternal grandfather's funeral pyre, so that the couple, who had been together all their lives, would not be separated even after death.

This is the whole inside story

Khemraj Dehariya, a driver by profession, returned home after his duty on Thursday evening. He had to leave again to drop off some villagers. Meanwhile, 5 year old Vansh insisted on going with his maternal grandfather. Mother Nikita tried to stop him, lured him to the temple, did not even give him a chance to wear shoes, but he became Nana's shadow and boarded the bus with them. No one had any idea that this would prove to be his last journey.

Respecting feelings above tradition

Generally in Hindu religion there is a tradition of burying the dead bodies of small children. But Mohan Dehariya, the head of the Dehariya family, took a courageous and emotional decision. He said that when both of them did not live a moment without each other, then why should the last farewell be given separately? With this thought in mind, the pyre of the innocent child was decorated next to his maternal grandfather. Experts believe that such heart-wrenching accidents leave a deep mental impact on the society regarding safety and fear of losing loved ones.
