Mukka: "Five decades ago, we started a newspaper named 'Udayavani' (Morning Voice). New graduates are also like a 'Morning Voice.' However, you are not a daily newspaper; instead, you are the representatives of a New India," said T. Satish U. Pai, Executive Chairman of Manipal Media Network Ltd.
Speaking after receiving an Honorary Doctorate at the convocation ceremony of Srinivas University on Saturday, he remarked, "The world waits for no one, but it creates an opportunity for you. Therefore, perform your duties with honesty every day."
Choose courage over comfort
"You have received your degrees today. Tomorrow, when you encounter opportunities, step out of your comfort zone and choose courage. Reject shortcuts and choose good conduct," he advised the graduates.
He further noted the deep bond between Srinivas University Founder Dr. A. Raghavendra Rao and the Manipal Group. "It is a matter of pride for us that Dr. Rao is an alumnus of MGM College, the very first college established by Dr. TMA Pai in the Udupi region. In the 1950s, Dr. Pai envisioned and realized the current Manipal University. Today, Manipal University attracts students from 50 countries. Dr. Rao established Srinivas University with a similar vision. May this university also attract students from across the globe in the future," Satish Pai wished.
