In Hinduism, the month of *Vaishakh* is considered to be highly meritorious and holds special significance for religious and charitable acts. In *Sanatan Dharma*, all twelve months of the year are regarded as particularly important. In this context, according to the astrologer Pandit Kalki Ram, the month of *Vaishakh* marks the peak period of the summer season. Therefore, donating items that provide coolness during this time is considered to be especially fruitful. Religious belief holds that donating water, *sherbet* (sweet drinks), fruits, earthen pots, umbrellas, and other cooling items during this month attracts the special grace of Lord Shri Hari Vishnu.

Pandit Kalki Ram suggests that during the month of *Vaishakh*, individuals should make it a point to place water for birds on their rooftops or in their courtyards. Filling earthen pots or vessels with water not only provides relief to the birds but also helps maintain a sense of coolness and positive energy in one's own life. Arranging for a public water kiosk (*Pyau*) for passersby is also considered an extremely meritorious act during this month. Providing water to thirsty people during the summer season is described as a highly virtuous deed.

Religious scriptures also contain detailed descriptions of the glory of the month of *Vaishakh*. In the *Skanda Purana*, the divine sage *Devarshi* Narada praises the month of *Vaishakh*, stating that the rewards of charity, ritual bathing, and worship performed during this month are multiplied many times over. During this period, bathing in holy rivers—specifically taking a morning dip followed by the worship of Lord Vishnu—is considered highly auspicious. This practice is believed to absolve sins and lead to the attainment of happiness and prosperity.

According to the Hindu *Panchang* (calendar), this year, the month of *Vaishakh* begins on April 3rd and continues until May 1st. Throughout this entire month, the donation of water is considered the most supreme act of charity. Additionally, making arrangements for water for cows, performing *Tarpan* (water oblations) for one's ancestors, and donating footwear, umbrellas, or clothing to the poor and needy are described as highly meritorious acts. According to the astrologer, performing daily worship, chanting mantras, and engaging in charitable acts during the month of *Vaishakh* brings happiness, peace, and prosperity into one's life. This month conveys a message of service, self-restraint, and devotion.
