Patna: Amidst the turmoil in Bihar politics, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has opened a box of happiness for half the population of the state. There is talk that Nitish Kumar may soon go to Rajya Sabha, but before that he has given a big gift to economically empower the rural women of Bihar. Now Rs 10,000 will also be sent to the accounts of those women who were deprived of this benefit till now. This news is no less than a jackpot for Jeevika Didis and rural women.
These women will get direct benefit of Rs 10 thousand
The government has made it clear that women involved in livelihood are now going to get double happiness. According to the new update, doors have been opened for those women who have not yet received a grant of Rs 10,000 under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana’. Along with this, women who have already received this amount will also now be considered eligible to take loan from Jeevika Bank (Nidhi). This means that now lack of money will not come in the way of any woman’s self-employment.
Difference between loan and grant: Now there will be no confusion
Often there was confusion among women about which scheme was a loan and which was a help. The government has now turned milk into milk and water into water. The amount received under ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana’ is a grant, which does not have to be returned. At the same time, ‘Jeevika Bank’ is a separate system from where loans are available to expand the business. To explain this difference, an awareness campaign will soon be launched across Bihar so that no woman misses out on the benefits of this scheme.
Loan up to Rs 2 lakh will be available, help is divided into three categories
To make women self-reliant, a maximum loan of up to Rs 2 lakh is being given through Jeevika Bank. The government has divided it into three easy categories. Loan can be taken up to Rs 15 thousand for initial needs, Rs 75 thousand for medium level work and up to Rs 2 lakh for big business. The special thing is that additional financial assistance is also being given to women who start small business with Rs 10,000 to advance them.
Process started in these districts, will soon create buzz in entire Bihar
At present, the process of taking loan from Jeevika Bank is going on at a fast pace in Patna, Muzaffarpur and Bhojpur districts. A large number of applications have been received from these districts which are now being uploaded on the government portal. Officials say that very soon the applications will be approved and the money will be transferred directly to the bank accounts. The good news is that soon this scheme will be implemented at full speed in all the 38 districts of the state. This move of Nitish Kumar is being considered as a ‘masterstroke’ before his visit to Rajya Sabha.
