Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s para fencing team brought glory to the state at the 2nd National Para Fencing Championship which ended last week at Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Stadium.
With an impressive haul of 26 medals, Odisha emerged overall champions in the Nationals, according to Odisha Sports.
Both male and female athletes excelled in the meet, held from March 23 to 27.
Yeddula Vijay, Secretary, Sports and Youth Services department, congratulated the Odisha team members for their outstanding performance in Jaipur.
Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary of Housing and Urban Development department, lauded the achievement as a defining moment for Odia Asmita, noting that the journey of these athletes is a powerful narrative of courage and unwavering determination.
