Iconic bass player for the band Mourning Noise, Chris "Morance" Marino has died. The band confirmed the news in a heartbreaking Instagram post, although they did not share a cause of death. Alongside two images, a single moody close up of the star and a picture of the group of stage jubilant following a gig, they wrote: "It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our brother, Chris "Morance" Marino.

"A founding member of Mourning Noise. Ever so proud of what we created as a unit. Chris was the best bandmate you could have asked for. A fantastic bassist. A team player. Eager to always rehearse. Our secret ingredient in the songwriting process who would give us little details to paint within the canvas. And above all, a man with a heart of gold. There are no words that can fully capture what he meant to us, and there never will be. But we know this-everything we create moving forward will carry a piece of him with it. His sound, his spirit, his fingerprints are forever part of Mourning Noise."

The American horror and hardcore punk rock band were formed in the early 1980s and hail from Lodi, New Jersey. They disbanded in 1984, although they did release some material in the 90s.

However, in 2021, founding members Chris, Steve Zing and Tommy Koprowski reformed the group. They were joined by vocalist Roddy Bloodshed and guitarist Jonny Noise and went on to receive huge acclaim and fantastic reviews for their new songs and shows.

Away from the band, Chris was also a successful businessman and owned and ran the Headhunters Salon in New Jersey, where he was in huge demand as a stylist.

Fans were devastated by the news and shared their heartbreak in the comments of the band's post. "He was truly a great person. Devastating news," one wrote. "I'm so sorry to hear this! May you rest in peace brother. Condolences to his family and friends," another added.

A third chimed in: "So incredibly sad. What a great person he was. Condolences to you all."

A fourth shared: "I cannot believe this news, I thought I was opening a post about the new album. I am devastated. Chris was so kind to me, he actually gave a shit about his fans just like the rest of Mourning Noise. I will continue to support you guys no matter what!"

A fifth commented: "My deepest condolences to all of you. Sending love and prayers. RIP Chris," accompanied by a heart and a prayer emoji.

Meanwhile a sixth wrote: "So very sorry to hear this may he rest in peace."
