Cricket Gully | March 31, 2026 5:39 PM CST

New Zealand have named their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh in April, which will feature several key players who will return from their injuries.

The national team has welcomed back fast bowlers Will O'Rourke, Matt Fisher, and Blair Tickner who have fully recovered from their respective injuries. The white-ball team has received its first-time return of off-spinning all-rounder Dean Foxcroft who last played for the team in April 2024.

The team will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Tom Latham because regular captain Mitchell Santner is unavailable due to his Indian Premier League commitments with the Mumbai Indians.

O'Rourke has returned to the ODI squad after recovering from his back injury, and Fisher is joining the T20I team after he returns from his shin injury. Tickner who was out with an ankle injury has earned selection in both squads.

Rob Walter the head coach expressed his satisfaction with the trio's return because of their dedication to rehabilitation work which serves to improve team depth. He also stated that teams need to control their player workloads because modern schedules require organizations to maintain their performance through active player rotations.

Foxcroft earned his recall after a strong domestic season, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer for Central Districts in the Ford Trophy with 435 runs from 11 innings.

Muhammad Abbas and Adi Ashok have secured spots in the ODI squad after their participation in the New Zealand A one-day series in Sri Lanka. Kristian Clarke and Ben Sears have also been selected in both squads.

Clarke and Jayden Lennox who played a role in New Zealand's historic series win against India in January keep their spots with Lennox now set to make his T20I debut. New Zealand will arrive in Dhaka on April 13. The first two ODIs will take place at Shere Bangla National Stadium on April 17 and April 20 while the third ODI will occur in Chattogram on April 23.

The T20I series will start in Chattogram with matches scheduled for April 27 and April 29 which will be followed by both teams returning to Dhaka for their final match on May 2.
