
Many important information was given in the inter-ministerial briefing on the situation in West Asia. Fertilizer plants are getting 7075% supply. Arrangements for additional LNG and LNG are being made.
Instructions to companies to provide PNG connections quickly
It was told in the briefing that instructions have been given to CGD companies to provide PNG connections expeditiously. 3.1 lakh connections have been activated in March. 2.7 lakh new connections have been given. National PNG Drive 2.0 has been extended till 30 June 2026. It has been decided to provide PNG connections to schools, hostels, Anganwadi, canteens in 5 days. Along with this, the Road Ministry has implemented a faster approval process for CGD projects.
The government said that pipeline expansion will be easier with the new policy (2026). There is no shortage of domestic LPG anywhere. On an average, 50 lakh+ cylinders are being delivered daily. Digital booking has increased to 92%, there is transparency in delivery through DAC system. As far as commercial LPG is concerned, the supply has been gradually increased to 70% (pre-crisis level).
3.2 lakh+ cylinders distributed so far
Hotels, restaurants, dhabas, food processing, community kitchens, industries (steel, textile etc.) are being given priority. Talking about small 5 kg cylinders, 3.2 lakh+ cylinders have been distributed since March 23. 63,000+ are being distributed in a day. Kerosene – Additional 48,000 KL allocation, available in need states under PDS, is stored at 2 petrol pumps per district.
The government said that continuous action is being taken against black marketing. So far 3000+ raids have been conducted. 500+ cylinders have been seized. 540+ notices have been issued and 1200+ petrol pumps and distributors have been inspected. All ports working normally, no congestion. 18 Indian ships still in the area, DG Shipping control room active 24x7. So far 959 Indians have been brought back safely. 9 have returned in 24 hours. Since February 28, 5.72 lakh people have returned to India.

Talking about flight status, there are 85 flights to UAE, regular flights to Oman-Saudi, limited flights to Qatar. At the same time, the airspace of Kuwait and Bahrain is closed.
