Golfing legend Tiger Woods shocked the world last week following a high-speed crash involving his Range Rover. The collision took place on Jupiter Island, Florida, on Friday afternoon. The 50-year-old tried to pass a lorry but struck its back end and overturned his vehicle. Woods cleared a breathalyser examination at the location but declined to provide a urine specimen.
He was arrested, charged with driving under the influence and taken to a police station. The golfing star had recently made his comeback to the sport at the TGL Finals in West Palm Beach and was intending to compete in the Masters in April. The consequences of the dramatic incident have continued. Express Sport examines the latest developments concerning Woods.
Vanessa's angerWoods' partner of a year, Vanessa, is Donald Trump Jr's ex-wife. The pair have been dating since last March. A source has revealed to The Daily Mail that Vanessa was awaiting Woods when he arrived home from the Martin County Public Safety Complex after his arrest.
The couple then allegedly had an extended evening discussing the collision. "She's not happy at all," the source said. "She's both disappointed and a little bit p****d, if I'm being honest.

"It's a definite red flag, and she told him that he's going to get this sorted out and that she's going to require that. He has to get things under control, or she's not going to stick around."
While it wasn't an ultimatum regarding their relationship, it is understood that Vanessa expressed her concerns clearly, adding further distress to Woods' circumstances.
In an additional setback for Woods, it has been reported that he has been prevented from driving President Donald Trump's grandchildren. Friday's collision was Woods' fourth significant road incident in recent years.
It has come to light that the Secret Service transports Vanessa's five children, including 18-year-old golf prodigy Kai Trump. A source informed the New York Post that agents are "certainly not letting Tiger Woods [drive the kids] - even without the DUI."
They continued: "There would be concern if their kids weren't being protected by Secret Service." Woods was probably on legitimate painkillers when he overturned his vehicle, sources suggest. The 50 -year-old was "not one for illegal drugs", the source added, and he may have been taking prescription medicine for his golfing injuries.
Driving abilities criticisedA former Woods employee has described what the 15-time major champion is like behind the wheel. His former colleague told the Daily Mail: "The guy is a terrible driver... he drives like a bat out of hell very often on a road where lawn services are parked with heavy equipment.
"I've been with him in the car going 55 or 60 mph, driving past cops who don't seem to care." Although Woods declined to provide a urine sample to the police, the former employee defended Woods, saying: "I know the guy, that's just not what he does."
Woods has been unable to compete regularly since sustaining serious injuries in his 2021 crash, with his most recent competitive outing coming at the 2024 Open Championship.
Back in 2009, Woods collided with a fire hydrant in Isleworth, near Orlando. Then in 2017, Woods lost consciousness at the wheel while driving in Jupiter.
The five-time Masters champion was also involved in a single-vehicle collision in California, in the February 2021 accident that left him with open fractures to his tibia and fibula.
