New Delhi. The impact of Iran-America tension has now reached the Global Tech Industry. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) recently declared 18 American tech and other companies as legitimate military targets and warned of directly targeting them. This threat has sent the tech world into a tizzy, and Intel has taken immediate steps to increase security.
Intel took the first step
Following the Iran threat, an Intel spokesperson said the company gives top priority to the safety of its employees and facilities. He said that security for operations and personnel present in the Middle East has been increased and the situation is being constantly monitored. Intel has become the first major US tech company to respond to this threat.

Reason for Iran’s warning
Iran alleged in a post on its Telegram channel that these companies have been involved in American and Israeli attacks on Iranian soil. The post warned that from now on, for every murder, an American company would suffer a loss. Iran also instructed the employees of these companies to vacate the offices immediately.
Major companies on target
Iran’s list includes:-
Tech Companies: Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Intel, Cisco, HP, Oracle, IBM, Dell, Palantir, Boeing
Other sectors: JPMorgan (banking), Tesla (EV), GE (electric), UAE AI firm G42
Threat to data centers and digital infrastructure
In March itself, AWS data centers were attacked, due to which digital outage was seen in UAE. Gulf countries are becoming global hubs for AI and data infrastructure, due to which the threat of attack on billions of dollars of investment can become a challenge for the digital economy of the entire world.
Intel’s main offices are in the US, but it also has operations and data centers in Israel and the UAE. Strict security arrangements are being made. Other American tech companies face the same threat because they have significant operations located near the Middle East.
