Desk : US President Donald Trump on Saturday gave a tough ultimatum to Iran, saying that it has been given 48 hours to make a deal or reopen the strategic Hormuz Strait. If Iran does not take this step, it may have to face “hell”. Trump posted this warning on his Truth social platform, in which he reminded the Islamic Republic of the 10-day ultimatum given earlier.

Trump’s post read, “Remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz. Time is running out – 48 hours before all hell breaks loose on them. Glory be to God! President Donald J. Trump.”

This ultimatum came after Trump made a statement on March 26, in which he said that he was postponing attacks targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure for another 10 days. He made the announcement at Iran’s “request” and said diplomatic talks with Tehran were “going very well”.

“At the request of the Iranian government, this statement please means that I am delaying the destruction of the energy plant for 10 days, until Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Negotiations are ongoing and, despite misrepresentations by the fake news media and others, they are going very well,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

The move was part of an earlier ultimatum given by Trump, in which he directed the US Department of War to postpone any military action against Iranian power plants and energy sites for five days, and the decision was taken due to ongoing diplomatic talks.

This ultimatum may make the situation even more difficult for Iran, because if no solution is found within 48 hours, they may have to face American attacks. Trump’s announcement and his strong statements reflect increasing tensions with Iran, which could be important developments for West Asia.
