- Scientists T. The bag is made from collagen made from proteins found in rex fossils.
- This bag is being presented as an eco-friendly and technologically advanced option.
- But some scientists have expressed doubt on this claim.
FashionAnything can happen in the world of New innovations are born here every day. If you love luxury bags, then today’s news is going to be special for you. You must know that there are many luxury brands around the world whose bags are not made from ordinary cloth but from animal leather. Skins of animals like crocodile, sheep are used in this. But recently a scientist and designer has created a luxury bag from the fossil remains of Tyrannosaurus rex (T. rex). This special bag is made from leather made from proteins obtained from residues. The bag is on display till May 11 after which it will be auctioned. It is said that the starting price of this bag will be set at more than five dollars.

How was the bag made?
According to the team’s claim, the leather used to make the bag was not derived directly from dinosaurs, but instead was made from fragmented collagen, an ancient protein. To do this he T. Small pieces of protein were extracted from the fossils of Rex. The fragments were then inserted into the cells of an unknown animal to produce new collagen. Finally, this collagen was processed into leather. While doing this, the team had to face many technical challenges but the team itself says that they have succeeded in this.
Chey Conan, CEO of Lab-Grown Leather Limited, which manufactures leather from collagen, said T. Rex’s ties have given this fabric an exceptional quality that is not limited to environmental criteria. It is not only an eco-friendly alternative to leather but an improved technological alternative, he said.

What do scientists say about this project?
Many scientists are a bit confused about this phenomenon. Melanie Düring, a Dutch vertebrate paleontologist, says the collagen found in dinosaur bones survives only in small fragments, making it nearly impossible to replicate real leather. University of Maryland paleontologist Thomas R. Holtz Jr. states that T. The collagen found in rex bones does not come from the skin. Even if the protein match is perfect, it will not provide the same texture and strength as real leather.
