Batting first after losing the toss, Hyderabad had a very bad start, losing 3 wickets in the powerplay itself. After this, on the basis of half-centuries by Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy, Hyderabad made a respectable score of 156 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Lucknow team scored 160 runs on the basis of captain Rishabh Pant’s half-century innings and won the match by 5 wickets.
