First know about curd?

Everyone knows about curd that it is made from sourdough i.e. old curd. Before this the probiotics together prepare new curd. In this, cow or buffalo milk is heated, mixed with curd and kept in a warm place to ferment, due to which natural probiotics are formed in it and the curd solidifies. It is clotted and also contains some water. Curd is also an excellent source of protein. Apart from this, Vitamin D, B12 are also found in it.

What is yogurt – how is it different from curd?

While curd is prepared naturally, bacteria are specially added to prepare yogurt in big factories. Lactobacillus bulgaris and Streptococcus thermophilus good bacteria are added to it. Due to which the milk gets formatted and turns into yogurt. In this the pH is brought to an acidic level of approximately 4.6. For this reason, its texture is slightly thicker and smoother than home-made curd.

If we talk about Greek yogurt, the process of making it is not different, rather it is prepared from curd or yogurt only. It is thicker and more creamy in texture. Actually, extra water i.e. whey is removed from curd or yogurt and it becomes Greek yogurt. You can prepare it at home also. Tie the curd or yogurt in a clean muslin cloth and hang it. After this, beat it well so that it becomes creamy. Simply Greek Yogurt will be ready i.e. Greek Yogurt. After this, flavors are added to it, like the taste of different fruits. In a way it is hung curd.

What is more beneficial?

According to your health and fitness needs, you can make curd, yogurt or Greek yogurt a part of your diet. Basically, there is not much difference between Greek yogurt and curd. Just the process of making these two is different. Talking about protein, according to Health Line, Greek yogurt is better for it, hence if you are trying to lose weight then you can take Greek yogurt, but keep in mind that it should not have any kind of flavor or sugar content.
