Big update for Paytm users, now secure payment will be done without UPI PIN, verification will be done through Face ID and fingerprint.

Tezzbuzz Desk- Digital payment platform Paytm has launched two new features to further improve the experience of its users. These features include biometric authentication for UPI payments and cardless ATM withdrawals. Both these features make everyday transactions easier, faster and more secure.

UPI payment will be done without PIN

Through Paytm’s new biometric authentication feature, users will no longer need to enter UPI PIN every time.

Now you can verify payment only through Face ID or fingerprint. For example, when you make a payment to someone, your biometric data (face or fingerprint) will be scanned instead of the PIN and the transaction will be completed instantly.

This feature works with both the fingerprint sensor on Android and Face ID on iOS. The company has clarified that neither Paytm nor banks store the biometric data of users, due to which privacy remains completely safe.

As per NPCI rules, a maximum of Rs 5000 can be paid in a single transaction through this facility. However, for users who prefer the traditional method, the option of UPI PIN will also be available.

How to turn on biometric feature

Open Paytm app and tap on profile icon
Go to Settings
Select “Pay with Fingerprint” or “Pay with Face ID” option
Select your bank account
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup

Now withdraw cash without ATM card

Another new feature of Paytm is Cardless ATM Withdrawal, with the help of which you can withdraw money from ATM even without a debit card. This facility has been introduced under the new two-factor authentication rules of RBI, making digital transactions more secure.

How to do cardless cash withdrawal

Select “UPI Cash Withdrawal” option on the ATM machine
Enter withdrawal amount
Scan the QR code shown on the screen with the Paytm app
Verify transaction by entering UPI PIN
Cash will be withdrawn from ATM within a few seconds

Under this facility, a maximum amount of up to Rs 10,000 can be withdrawn at a time.
