Meghan Markle has reportedly left celebrities hesitant about spending time with her amid the recent Kardashian-Jenner scandal. The 44-year-old, who has seen her reputation decline since stepping down as a senior working royal in 2020, made a surprise appearance with Prince Harry at Kris Jenner's 007-themed 70th birthday last year.

The couple's attendance caused a stir with royal experts and fans, with many questioning their reason for their presence at such a high-profile event. The event took place on Remembrance Day in the UK, with many people in the UK referring to the couple's appearance as "disrespectful".

Harry, 41, was seen "enjoying himself on a very solemn day for his countrymen".

Speaking about the scandal, Variety's Matt Donnelly told The Royalist with Tom Sykes and The Daily Beast: "So I think to me, that's a microcosm of what it's like for established showbusiness people who probably want to be welcoming to the son of a beloved figure like Diana, to someone who does so much for mental health, for someone who is a big supporter and and founder.

"I believe in the Invictus Games. But these are the kind of situations you find yourself in. You know what I mean? That that even extending a simple social invite turns into a five car PR pile up.

"So I think that that to me is quite demonstrative of what it's like to even do the most minimal like lowest bar possible socializing with these two. So imagine what it's like to be in business with them."

Held at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Beverly Hills mansion, the event was attended by some of the most famous faces in the world, including Beyoncé and Jay Z, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey and Adele.

Photos of the couple walking hand in hand inside quickly circulated online, followed by images from the party itself shared on Instagram by Kris and Kim Kardashian.

Although the images of the Sussexes from inside the bash quickly vanished from social media, they had been posted online before being deleted.
