A Disturbing Case of Bullying

A 13-year-old boy, previously regarded as the 'leader' of his class, has found himself ensnared in a troubling bullying incident in Karnataka. This shocking case involves the boy being attacked by three of his classmates on school grounds, resulting in serious injuries. His family has reported that he has been targeted for an extended period.

The allegations state that he was repeatedly coerced into bringing cash and his mobile phone, which were then taken from him. Reportedly, the assailants assaulted him after dragging him into the restroom. The victim's family claims that the police initially hesitated to file a First Information Report (FIR), but the case was eventually registered following pressure from relatives.

Lack of Action Despite Complaints

The police at Jayalakshmipuram have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of intentional harm and endangerment to life or personal safety. Additionally, actions are being taken against the boy's classmates under the Juvenile Justice Act. In an interview with the media, the victim revealed that the bullying had persisted for nearly four years.

He recounted that the harassment began when he was in the fourth grade. He was appointed as the class leader and instructed to report any wrongdoing. "I did as I was told, and that’s when they started beating me," he explained. He mentioned that his mother had complained to the teacher, but no action was taken.
