Social media chatter around Deepika Padukone has finally been addressed by the actress herself. She recently responded to trolls who questioned why she hadn’t publicly supported Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
The buzz started when an Instagram video pointed out her silence, asking if it was intentional or simply being overanalysed by the Internet. The caption of the post also highlighted how Deepika skipped the film’s premiere and didn’t post anything about it, even as the movie reportedly made huge numbers at the box office.

After days of speculation, Deepika Padukone reacted on April 7 with a witty comment. She wrote, “The latter my friend…P.S. I watched it way before any of you did , Now who is the joke on?”.
With this, she made it clear that people were reading too much into her silence and that she had already seen the film earlier.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a spy action thriller that continues the story from the first part. The film explores Ranveer Singh’s character in greater depth, revealing more about his original identity, Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The movie also stars Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in key roles and has reportedly crossed Rs 1000 crore worldwide.
While the first part released on Netflix, the sequel will stream on JioHotstar. Reports suggest the platform has secured the film for Rs 150 crore, which is double the deal of the first film. Though the official OTT release date isn’t out yet, it is expected to arrive within eight weeks of its theatrical release.
Deepika Padukone’s response has now put an end to the speculation, showing that sometimes silence doesn’t mean what people assume it does.
