In the ongoing DUI case involving Tiger Woods, prosecutors in Florida are taking steps to obtain comprehensive medical records. A recent court filing indicates that they are interested in the prescription medications Woods was taking prior to his recent accident.
According to reports, the Martin County prosecutors intend to issue a subpoena to Lewis Pharmacy on April 22. They are seeking records for every prescription Woods received between January 1 and March 27. This request includes specifics such as the medication type, dosage, quantity of pills, and the precise dates each prescription was filled.
Additionally, the request aims to uncover any warnings associated with the medications. Authorities are particularly interested in whether the prescriptions included advisories against driving or operating a vehicle while under their influence. They are investigating whether these medications impaired Woods' driving capabilities, including potential side effects like drowsiness or impaired judgment.
The subpoena also requests any special instructions that accompanied the prescriptions, aiming to establish a complete understanding of how the medications were intended to be used and whether Woods adhered to those guidelines.
Tiger Woods' Arrest Details
Woods was arrested in March after failing a field sobriety test at the scene of the crash. Although a breathalyzer test showed no alcohol in his system, he declined to take a urine test. He later acknowledged taking 'a few pills' before getting behind the wheel.
This incident adds to Woods' history of driving-related incidents, with four car crashes recorded since 2009. In 2017, he faced a similar DUI charge and subsequently accepted a plea deal.
Following his latest arrest, Woods pleaded not guilty. In a statement on social media, he expressed awareness of the gravity of the situation and announced his intention to step back from public life temporarily to focus on his health and seek treatment.
