The Home Department of Madhya Pradesh Government has assigned the charge of various divisions to seven senior IPS (Indian Administrative Service) officers to strengthen law and order and review the work of the police. Orders in this regard have been issued on 8 April 2026. In this, senior IPS officers have been given charge for Bhopal, Ujjain, Chambal Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Sagar and Shahdol divisions.
This order was issued after a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The order said that as per the previous order, 1991 batch IPS Pragya Risha Srivastava was appointed officer in-charge of Gwalior division, 1993 batch IPS Anil Kumar of Rewa division and 1992 batch IPS Adarsh Katiyar was appointed officer in-charge of Indore division. These orders will remain in place. No changes have been made in this.
These officers got new responsibility:
- 1991 batch IPS and Director General Jail Varun Kapoor, Bhopal division.
- Upendra Kumar Jain, 1991 batch IPS and Director General of Economic Offenses Wing, Ujjain division.
- Chambal division to 1992 batch IAS and Special Director General of Police Jail G Akhetto Sema.
- 1993 batch IPS and Special Director General of Police CID and Special Director General of Police Vigilance Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, Jabalpur division.
- 1994 batch IPS and Special Director General of Police, Railway Ananth Kumar Singh, Sagar Division.
- Ravi Kumar Gupta, 1993 batch IPS and Director General of Special Police, Railways, Police Headquarters, Narmadapuram,
- Rajababu Singh, 1994 batch IPS and Additional Director General of Police Training, has been made in-charge of Shahdol division.
