In a past interview with Waves OTT, Asha Bhosle shared insights into how her childhood experiences of mimicking singers and listening to music served as her informal training. She mentioned that she drew inspiration from the legendary Carmen Miranda. At one point, she faced challenges while singing a song by Sir Ramchandra, but after channeling Carmen's style, she successfully delivered a performance that impressed everyone. "I sang it during the take and everyone loved it. They asked me, how did you do this? I didn’t tell them that I imitated Carmen Miranda. In the same way, I changed my singing every time. I changed my voice and style," she recounted.

On the professional front, Asha Bhosle made history as the first Indian singer to receive a Grammy nomination in 1997. In 2000, she was awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for her remarkable contributions to Indian cinema. Some of her most memorable songs include Dum Maro Dum, Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, Yeh Mera Dil, and Piya Tu Ab To Aaja.
