It rained heavily on the grounds of New Chandigarh yesterday. Batting first, Hyderabad had scored a mountain-like score of 216 runs on the board. Opener Abhishek Sharma showed the class of Punjab bowlers by scoring 74 runs in just 28 balls. Along with Travis Head, he crossed the 100 mark in the first 6 overs itself. But Shreyas Iyer's Punjab defeated Hyderabad. Punjab's openers Priyansh Arya (57) and Prabhsimran Singh (51) laid the foundation of victory by giving a start of 99 runs. In the end, captain Shreyas Iyer took charge and played an unbeaten inning of 69 runs, leading the team to victory by 6 wickets. Iyer was named 'Player of the Match' for his match-winning innings. With this victory, Punjab has now reached second position.
