New Delhi. Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched a strong attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He accused the TMC government of failing to ensure the safety of women in the state. Addressing a public meeting at Palli Mangal Club grounds in Mayureshwar, Shah strongly criticized Banerjee’s remarks in which she had advised women not to go out after 7 pm after the RG Kar rape case. Shah said that Mamata Didi says that women should not go out after seven in the evening. Mamta Didi, have some shame. Despite being a woman Chief Minister yourself, you could not protect the sisters of Bengal. Presenting BJP as an alternative, Shah said that you should form the BJP government just once. We will create such a Bengal where even at 1 o’clock in the night a small girl can go out on a scooter.

Intensifying his attack on Banerjee, Shah said that just now I was watching a speech of Mamata didi. She was scaring the majority community here. CM scares by saying that if TMC is no more, the majority community will not survive. During his rule, there were riots in Murshidabad, attacks on Ram Navami, ban on Saraswati Puja. Where had she gone then? Shah also stressed that the upcoming assembly elections will prove to be a turning point in the state. TMC goons will no longer be able to scare the people of Bengal with their bomb blasts. The people of Bengal will answer bombs with ballot and fear with confidence. I want to tell the people of Bengal that you should look for the lotus symbol on the ballot machine. The BJP government will do the work of finding all the goons of TMC. He said that today I am telling the TMC goons to remain locked in their homes on 23rd April, otherwise on 4th May you will be selectively put behind the bars.
