Preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal are going on in full swing, for which Union Home Minister Amit Shah has intensified his election campaign in the entire state. During a rally on April 10, 2025, he made several big announcements, including implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and making a local leader the Chief Minister if BJP comes to power. Let us know who will be the Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party-
1. UCC to be implemented within six months
Amit Shah announced that BJP will implement Uniform Civil Code within six months of forming the government in West Bengal.
He stressed that the idea of UCC came from the Constituent Assembly and was not a new proposal by the BJP.
According to him, the reason for the delay in implementing UCC in the last few years is appeasement politics.
2. Accusations on TMC
Shah accused Trinamool Congress of doing appeasement politics.
He criticized claims that the BJP would interfere in people’s eating habits, calling them misleading.
He argued that having uniform laws for all citizens ensures equality and justice.
3. Only “son of Bengal” will become CM
Allaying leadership concerns, Amit Shah assured that BJP will appoint a Chief Minister who is a native of Bengal.
He indirectly targeted Mamata Banerjee and said that BJP does not do dynastic politics.
He stressed that leadership would be decided on the basis of merit and not family legacy.
4. Reply on Humayun Kabir controversy
Shah rejected the allegations to TMC leader Humayun Kabir and any alleged association of his with BJP.
He said that BJP and such leaders are ideologically opposed to each other and there is no question of any kind of alliance between them.
He further accused Mamata Banerjee of spreading misleading information through edited videos.
