Friends, while on one hand the Chief Minister of Bihar resigned from his post, on the other hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the much awaited Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. This is an important step towards promoting connectivity and regional development. Built at an estimated cost of around ₹12,000 crore, this six-lane, 213 km long expressway will significantly reduce the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun to just two and a half hours.

Why did PM Modi apologize to the public?

During his address, PM Modi apologized sincerely for arriving late to the event. He expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the people of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi as well as those present at the venue.

He said that he had left on time, but was late due to the overwhelming response of the public during the road show.

The 12-km long route was jam-packed with enthusiastic supporters, making it difficult for his convoy to move quickly.

There was a delay of more than an hour as he moved forward slowly, greeting people and taking their blessings.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: A major achievement

Highlighting the importance of this project, PM Modi described this expressway as a historic achievement for Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has recently completed 25 years of its formation.

He emphasized that the state has now entered a new phase of development.

Recalling his earlier view after the Kedarnath Yatra, he reiterated that the third decade of this century will belong to Uttarakhand.

This project reflects the combined efforts of government initiatives and dedication of the people.

Changing the future of the region

PM Modi described the expressway as more than just a road—it is a gateway to economic growth and opportunity.

It will improve connectivity and significantly boost trade and commerce.

This corridor is expected to encourage the development of warehouses, industries and new business centres.

This project will not only improve the transportation system but will also boost the overall economy of the entire region.

Overall, the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway stands as a transformative infrastructure project, promising faster travel, stronger economic activity and accelerated growth for the entire region.
