Samrat Choudhary takes oath as Chief Minister: BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Wednesday. This will be the first time that BJP will lead the government in the state. Samrat Chaudhary has become the 24th Chief Minister of the state. Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered him the oath of chief ministership and secrecy.

Top NDA leaders including Union Minister JP Nadda, BJP National President Nitin Naveen were present at the swearing-in ceremony of Samrat Chaudhary. The NDA includes BJP, Nitish Kumar’s JDU and three other parties. Apart from this, Chief Ministers of many states also attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Who is Samrat Chaudhary?
Shakuni Chaudhary, father of Samrat Chaudhary (Rakesh Kumar), has been a veteran leader of Bihar politics, who has been a part of Congress, Samata Party and RJD. He was considered an OBC face in Bihar politics. Shakuni Chaudhary traveled the journey from MLA to MP and his politics was inherited by Samrat Chaudhary.
Samrat started his political journey in Bihar in the 1990s from RJD and became a minister in the Rabri Devi government in 1999 at the age of 19. Lalu had made Samrat Chaudhary a minister by making him MLC, but after a dispute regarding age, Samrat resigned from the post of minister.

Then Samrat left RJD and joined JDU. In the year 2014, when Nitish Kumar left the post of CM, Jitan Ram Manjhi became the Chief Minister. Samrat was then made a cabinet minister in the Manjhi government in Bihar. But, after Manjhi, he could not get a place in the cabinet in Nitish government.
After becoming disillusioned with JDU, Samrat said goodbye to JDU. He joined BJP in the year 2018. Where he emerged as the face of BJP. In the year 2019, when Nityanand Rai was the state president, Samrat Chaudhary was made the vice president. Then he became Deputy CM twice in Bihar and now he has taken oath as the first BJP CM.
