The central government seems to be completely alert regarding the Chardham Yatra. This time, special arrangements are being made to make this important faith- journey of lakhs of devotees safe and smooth every year. In this series, the Central Government has assured to provide 15 companies of paramilitary forces to Uttarakhand, which the state can get by the month of May.

Recently, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan conducted a comprehensive review of the preparations for the Chardham Yatra. He held a meeting with state government officials and took detailed information about all the arrangements to the yatra. During this, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan was also present in the meeting. Important issues like security, health services, traffic management, heli services, infrastructure and disaster management were discussed in depth in the meeting.

The Union Home Secretary also took information from the State Government about the possible challenges and requirements faced during the visit. He assured that giving priority to the security of the devotees, 15 companies of paramilitary forces will be sent to Uttarakhand. These forces will be deployed as per the need from Rishikesh to the major sites of Chardham, so that security arrangements can be strengthened on the entire yatra route.

During the Chardham Yatra, a large number of devotees reach Uttarakhand, which includes travelers from the country as well as foreign countries. In such a situation, crowd management and security becomes a big challenge. Keeping this in mind, the Central and State Governments are jointly taking all necessary steps.

It is noteworthy that Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan has already visited Uttarakhand and conducted on-site inspection of the yatra route and arrangements. As per his instructions, the state government has intensified the preparations. The administration is working to ensure that there is no disturbance of any kind during the yatra and the devotees get a safe and smooth yatra experience.

It is clear from this initiative of the government that this time no stone will be left unturned at the level of security and arrangements regarding the Chardham Yatra. In coordination with the Center and the State, continuous efforts are being made to make the Yatra successful and safe.
