Hulu has finally released the trailer for Rivals Season 2. It arrives two years after the acclaimed Season 1 premiered in 2024. The show was announced to be receiving a second season the same year.

What happens in the Rivals Season 2 trailer?

The highly anticipated trailer for Rivals Season 2 saw the return of Season 1 favorites, including the likes of David Tennant as Lord Tony Baddingham, Danny Dyer as Freddie Jones, Aidan Turner as Declan O’Hara, Katherine Parkinson as Lizzie Vereker, Emily Atack as Sarah Stratton, and Alex Hassell as Rupert Campbell-Black.

Similar to the first season, Season 2 also delves into the excesses of the 1980s, focusing on the personal lives of Rutshire residents. However, the rivalry between Corinium and Venturer seems to be heating up even more, teasing an intense second season. You can watch the trailer down below:

“The battle for the Central South West television franchise reaches a fever pitch as the war between Corinium and Venturer enters a dangerous new phase. More ruthless than ever, Tony Baddingham is determined to dismantle his rivals piece-by-piece, weaponizing scandal and manipulating those closest to him to maintain his grip on power,” the official synopsis reads.

It continues, “Amidst the hedonistic glamour of 80s excess, the personal lives of our Rutshire heroes spiral into chaos. Marriages fracture under the weight of ambition, illicit affairs threaten to shatter families, and long-buried secrets ignite with explosive consequences. As rivalries push everyone to the brink, loyalties are tested and hearts are broken in the pursuit of victory. But what is the true cost of war?”

Other returning cast members include Nafessa Williams as Cameron Cook, Bella Maclean as Taggie O’Hara, Victoria Smurfit as Maud O’Hara, Claire Rushbrook as Lady Monica Baddingham, Oliver Chris as James Vereker, Lisa McGrillis as Valerie Jones, and more.

Season 2 will also see new faces, including Agent Carter’s Hayley Atwell as Helen Gordon and Shrek 2’s Rupert Everett as Malise Gordon. Joining them are Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle, Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, and Jonny Weldon.

Rivals Season 2 premieres on Hulu on Friday, May 15.
