Priyanka Gandhi said on the Women’s Reservation Bill – If the PM respected women

Said, PM makes fun of Rahul ji, but goes home and listens to his words.

New Delhi. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using the Constitution Amendment Bill to women’s reservation as an excuse to retain power. He claimed that if the bill with the provision of delimitation is passed, democracy will end in the country.

Participating in the discussion on bills to women’s reservation and delimitation, she also said that the Prime Minister should implement women’s reservation on the basis of the current strength of 543 Lok Sabha and delimitation should not happen without caste census.

During her speech, Priyanka mentioned Home Minister Amit Shah’s laughing and taunted him by saying, the Home Minister is laughing, the entire plan has been made… If Chanakya was alive today, he would have been shocked at your political crookedness. The Home Minister is laughing and agrees with me. He alleged that the Prime Minister took the issue of OBC lightly by talking about this class and that class, which is not appropriate. He asked, is the Prime Minister afraid of the caste census that when the actual figures come, it will be known how big and how strong the OBC category is. He alleged that the government has brought this bill because it does not want to give participation to Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

Modi is snatching away the rights of OBC class

The Congress leader said, by using the 2011 census as the basis for delimitation, Prime Minister Modi is trying to snatch away the rights of the OBC category, but the Congress party will never allow this to happen. He claimed that the smell of politics which Prime Minister Modi mentioned is completely mixed in this bill.

Democracy will end if the bill is passed

The Congress leader claimed that if this bill is passed then understand that democracy will end in the country. He said, if you (Prime Minister) respect women then you do not use women politically and this step is not in keeping with your position and dignity. The Lok Sabha member from Wayanad, Kerala said, if the Prime Minister had taken this historic step honestly, the entire House would have supported it.

Congress had also introduced women’s reservation bill

Priyanka Gandhi sarcastically said, even though the Prime Minister makes fun of Rahul ji here (in the House), he goes home and listens to his words. Referring to the historical perspective of women’s reservation, Priyanka said, implementing women’s reservation in the political system of our country was a unique step. The provision of 33 percent reservation for women in Panchayats and Municipalities was also introduced in the Parliament by the Congress government under the leadership of Rajiv Gandhi. But these provisions could not be passed at that time.
