Hockey greats shine: UP won gold in the 16th Sub Junior Championship, players honored in Lucknow

Lucknow, Read: A felicitation ceremony was organized at KD Singh Babu Stadium on Thursday night for the Uttar Pradesh hockey team, which brought glory to the state by winning the gold medal in the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Men’s National Championship. When the winning team reached Lucknow, an atmosphere of excitement was seen in the stadium premises.

As soon as the players reached the stadium with the trophy, the entire atmosphere echoed with the flash lights of the cameras and the applause of the spectators. During the program, the players were honored by being called on the stage, where the hall continuously echoed with thunderous applause.

In the ceremony, all the players were given vests, insignia and cash prizes from UP Hockey. Former international hockey player and sports director Dr. RP Singh, present at the program, congratulated the players on their golden achievement and wished them a bright future.

Former captain of the Indian hockey team and UP Hockey Secretary Rajneesh Mishra praised the performance of the players and said that this journey of success should not stop here. Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association Secretary Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey also honored the players and praised their efforts. On this occasion, many dignitaries including former RTO AK Tripathi, UP Hockey Vice President Abhijeet Sarkar and Treasurer Nisha Mishra were present.
