The Rawalpindiz's dismal PSL 2026 season took another hit as they suffered their sixth consecutive loss, with the Hyderabad Kingsmen easily brushing them aside in Karachi. This victory marked the Kingsmen's third win in a row, a remarkable turnaround after starting the season with four straight defeats, now placing them fourth on the table.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl, the Kingsmen set the pace right from the start. By the end of the Powerplay, Rawalpindiz found themselves in dire straits at 24 for 3 their lowest six-over score of the season. Usman Khawaja (2) and Mohammad Rizwan (15) were both back in the pavilion, and Daryl Mitchell struggled to make an impact, facing five balls without scoring.
From that point on, the Pindiz just couldn’t find their groove. Boundaries became a rare sight, dot balls piled up, and wickets fell consistently against a disciplined bowling attack. Yasir Khan, batting at No. 3, was the only one who seemed to put up a fight, managing to score 24 off 30 balls.

Sam Billings added a late burst with 26 runs from 22 balls, including a six, before being bowled by Asif Mehmood in the 17th over. Ultimately, Rawalpindiz could only muster 121/9. For the Kingsmen, Hunain Shah and Mohammad Ali were the standout bowlers, each taking three wickets while conceding less than a run per ball.
The Kingsmen's chase of 122 runs was anything but easy, as they faced early challenges. Asif Afridi was exceptional with the new ball, taking out Maaz Sadaqat for just four runs in the very first over and then dismissing the dangerous Saim Ayub, who had scored 15, including a six. This left the Kingsmen struggling at 35/3 after six overs.
Marnus Labuschagne (32 off 21) and Kusal Perera (32* off 24) really steadied the ship with a lively partnership, but everything changed when Labuschagne was caught in front by Saad Masood for a brisk 32 off 21. Suddenly, the game was buzzing with excitement again. It almost tipped completely when Ben Sears bowled Glenn Maxwell out for a golden duck in the very next over, leaving the Kingsmen at 69 for 5 and the match hanging in the balance with a hefty chunk of the target still to chase down.
What came next was a quietly impressive display. Mohammad Irfan and Kusal Perera kept their cool, skillfully rotating the strike, choosing their moments to attack, and making sure the Pindiz couldn’t claw their way back into the game. Perera finished not out on 32 from 24 balls, while Irfan scored 34 from 29, and their unbroken 54-run partnership saw the Kingsmen home with 24 balls to spare.
