Chinese auto company Geely Auto has introduced a hybrid system that can change the entire game of driving a car. The company claims that its new “i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid System” The car can drive about 45 kilometers in just 1 liter petrol. This figure is special because till now this segment has been dominated by Japanese companies, especially Toyota.

Record breaking mileage: long journey at low cost

Geely tested this new technology in its Emgrand model, where the car consumed only 2.22 liters of petrol to run 100 kilometers. That means a mileage of about 45 km/l, which is a big record in itself.

According to the company, this achievement has also been recorded in the Guinness World Records. If we look at Indian conditions, then with this mileage the journey from Delhi to Mumbai can be completed for around ₹ 3000. Amidst the rising prices of petrol, this technology is no less than a boon for the common man.

AI Technology: More mileage in every situation

Geely’s i-HEV system is not limited to just mileage, but it also features advanced AI technology. This smart energy management system makes better fuel use by sensing things like temperature, humidity and altitude in real time.

Its advantage is that the car gives excellent performance in all types of weather and road conditions. Additionally, it has such a powerful computing system that it also supports advanced driving features, which are not found in many existing hybrid cars.

New cars will be launched in 2026

Geely is preparing to introduce this new technology in many of its models by 2026. These include models like Preface, Monjaro, Starray and Emgrand. The company’s goal is to make this affordable and smart technology reach as many people as possible.

Direct competition to Japanese companies

Auto industry experts believe that this step of Geely can prove to be a big game changer. According to Yale Zhang, managing director of Shanghai’s Automotive Foresight, this system comes with more powerful motor, lower fuel consumption and advanced features, which gives a tough challenge to Japanese companies.

Why was Japan dominant till now?

Japan has dominated the world of hybrid cars since 1997, when the Toyota Prius was launched. Since then, Toyota and other Japanese companies have maintained a strong hold on this segment. Especially in countries where electric charging infrastructure is weak, hybrid cars are more preferred. At the same time, China was till now focusing on electric and plug-in hybrid, but this move of Geely shows its strong entry in the traditional hybrid market.
