New Delhi, 17 April. After the 131st Amendment Bill of the Constitution was defeated in the Lok Sabha on Friday due to lack of two-thirds majority, sharp statements have started between the ruling party and the opposition and the political atmosphere has become heated.

While the ruling party is cornering the opposition by linking it to women’s rights, the opposition is giving its arguments on this issue. In this sequence, Home Minister Amit Shah has made a sharp attack on the opposition and said that it will have to face the anger of women in 2029.

Taking aim at the opposition parties on social media platform X, Amit Shah said that Congress, TMC, DMK and Samajwadi Party did not allow the constitutional amendment required for the Nari Shakti Vandan Act to be passed.

Dropping the bill is condemnable

He said that dropping this bill which gives 33% reservation to women is condemnable. He warned that its political impact would be far-reaching and the opposition would have to face women’s anger in every election, including the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

Nadda told ‘dark chapter’

Union Health Minister JP Nadda gave a strong reaction to this and said that the non-passage of the bill is a ‘black chapter’ for democracy. He accused the opposition of anti-women mentality and said that this has dealt a blow to the dreams of crores of women.

Clash over women empowerment

Nadda said that while on one hand the government is committed to the empowerment of women, on the other hand the thinking of the opposition is hindering their progress. He also said that this anger of women power will be visible in the coming elections.

Jitan Ram Manjhi also made a sharp statement

Jitan Ram Manjhi also attacked the opposition and said that this is not just the failure of a bill, but it is like breaking the dreams and hopes of the daughters of the country. He termed it shameful.
