New Delhi. Vijay Singh, father of former Delhi Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Atishi, died on Friday. Aam Aadmi Party national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia have expressed condolences.

Sisodia expressed grief
Expressing grief, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia posted on X, the news of the demise of Shri Vijay Singh ji, father of former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi ji, is very sad. He dedicated his entire life to a society based on education and values. My deepest condolences to Atishi ji and his family in this difficult time. May God give them the strength to bear this immense sorrow.
Who was Vijay Singh?
Vijay Singh belongs to the Rajput community of Punjabi origin. Both of Atishi’s parents have been professors in Delhi University. According to reports, Tripta Wahi and Vijay Singh were inclined towards leftist ideology. For this reason, he named his daughter ‘Marlena’, which was inspired by the names of Marx and Lenin. However, Atishi later dropped ‘Marlena’ from her name.
