The fire broke out on Wednesday in a slum area along the Ring Road in Lucknow, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of the two sisters. Firefighters, police, and SDRF personnel conducted a search operation from midnight until 8 AM the following day. Around 4 AM, the remains of the sisters were discovered on a cot. Following this, the families received financial assistance from the government, with local MLA Om Prakash Srivastava personally delivering the checks and assuring them of further support.

A team of more than 400 personnel, including health workers and civil defense members, responded quickly to the scene, which helped save numerous lives.

The fire was extinguished around midnight. Joint Police Commissioner Arpana Kumar and SDRF Commandant Amit Kumar led the search efforts. The children's father, Satish, and mother, Poonam, were informed of the tragic loss. They had been living in the slum for about 20 years, originally from Barabanki district. On the day of the incident, Satish was at work while Poonam had stepped out to buy supplies, leaving their daughters asleep on the cot.
