New Delhi: South Korean consumer electronics company Samsung believes that innovation and education in India act as a catalyst for inclusion while enabling progress. SP Chun, Corporate Vice President of South-West Asia of the company has said this. The company has increased its commitment under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the year 2025-26 to Rs 193.89 crore from Rs 144.48 crore in 2024-25. So far, 15 lakh people have benefited from Samsung India’s ‘Citizenship’ programme.
“As we mark three decades in India, we recognize innovation and education as catalysts for progress and inclusion,” Chun said in the statement.
He further said that in the times to come, the focus will be on converting this potential into meaningful impact on a larger scale. “We are committed to cultivating a generation of young innovators with the skills, creativity and collaborative spirit to solve complex societal challenges and contribute to a more inclusive future,” he said.
According to Samsung, over the last three years it has promoted the skill development of youth through various programs. These programs collectively target everything from education to employment. The company has set a budget of Rs 77.25 crore in 2025-26 for its flagship program ‘Samsung Innovation Campus’ (SIC). Under this program, youth are given training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, coding and programming. So far, 6,500 students have been trained under this program which started in the year 2022. Of these, 3,500 students have been certified in 2024 alone, which is an increase of 17 percent compared to the previous year. This program is running in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Last year, the company expanded the program to 20,000 students across 10 states.
