Tezzbuzz Desk – Preparations to bring the 90s iconic superhero Shaktimaan on the big screen have been going on for a long time, but its casting has not been finalized yet. Meanwhile, the real ‘Shaktimaan’ of the show Mukesh Khanna has made a big revelation about the film, which has sparked a new debate among the fans.
Cleared stand regarding Ranveer Singh
Recently in an interview, Mukesh Khanna gave the reason for not casting Ranveer Singh for the role of ‘Shaktimaan’. He said that Ranveer is a brilliant and energetic actor, who fits into characters like ‘Khilji’ and ‘Gully Boy’, but for ‘Shaktimaan’, not only acting, but also a special kind of simplicity and personality is necessary.
“Face matters equally”
Mukesh Khanna believes that the character of this superhero requires a face which makes the audience feel honesty, simplicity and trust. He says that the already established star image can weaken the identity of this character, so he wants to give a chance to a new face.
Loss worth crores, yet decision not changed
Interestingly, Sony Pictures is very excited about this project and wants to make the film with a big budget. Despite this, Mukesh Khanna made it clear that he will not compromise on his choice of casting, even if he has to suffer a loss of crores of rupees due to this.
Looking for a new face
He also said that if he gets permission, he will hold auditions across the country and look for a new face who can play the character of ‘Shaktimaan’ with full authenticity. According to him, this character demands not just popularity but a strong personality and moral values.
