Attention on Chinese social media surged Wednesday after a video showed Chow driving into his private residence on Cumberland Road in Kowloon Tong.
The nearly 400 sq.m. property, home to Chow and his wife Jasmine Tan, was bought in 1990 for HKD14.7 million and is now estimated at around HKD200 million (US$25.6 million), according to HK01.

Reports said Chow owns eight properties across areas including The Peak, Kowloon Tong, Prince Edward and Sai Kun.
One of Chow’s notable properties is a house in the Sunshine Garden area at The Peak. He purchased it in 2010 for HKD128 million, which set a record-high price per square meter at the time, according to The Star.
It spans about 236.6 sq.m., with a garden of around 185.8 sq.m. and a 65 sq.m. terrace overlooking the sea to the south. It has not been occupied or rented out.
He listed it for sale in October 2022 at HKD220 million but found no buyer. By 2024, the price was dropped down to HKD195 million, with no reported deal.
Despite his wealth, Chow reportedly leads a modest lifestyle. He often wears simple clothing, uses inexpensive footwear and travels by public transport. Locals have reported seeing him queue at small eateries, shop for groceries and use an old mobile phone.
He also maintains an active lifestyle, regularly running and hiking. He is often seen on hiking trails in Hong Kong, interacting with fans and taking photos.
Chow has said he plans to donate most of his wealth to charity and that he thinks of money as a tool rather than a life goal.
Now 71, Chow is a leading figure in Hong Kong entertainment who rose to fame through TVB dramas such as The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and The Bund. Over his career, he has won multiple major honors, including three Hong Kong Film Awards and two Golden Horse Awards for Best Actor.
He is also known for his lơ-profile lifestyle and is frequently seen around the city taking public transportation, shopping at wet markets and hiking local trails, often chatting casually with residents without celebrity airs, the South China Morning Post reported.
