Prominent saints and religious leaders of Ayodhya reacted sharply after the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill to women’s reservation was not passed in the Lok Sabha. He accused the opposition parties of playing political games against the empowerment and dignity of women.

Over the years, these parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party, TMC and AAP have worked against our cultural values. Our tradition says, ‘Yatra Naryastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devata’—that is, where women are respected, divine powers reside there.

By opposing this bill, they have demonstrated their negative mentality towards women and the values ​​of the country. I pray that the Prime Minister continues to work for the nation and its culture. This bill will be reintroduced in future with a stronger mandate and will also be passed.”

Tapasvi Cantonment chief Paramahamsa Acharya, reacting to the Prime Minister’s address, said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously working to ensure respect for women and their greater participation in every field.

However, opposition parties have worked against the interests of women. They want women’s votes, but do not want to see them moving forward or getting respect. When I heard the Prime Minister’s speech, he looked very emotional and hurt. “Her dream was to see women empowered in all fields, but that dream has now been put aside.”

Arya Sant Varun Das said on this issue, “The Women’s Reservation Bill has failed in the Parliament. Many efforts were made before this too, but reservation for women should be ensured. Increasing women’s participation will further strengthen democracy.”

Iqbal Ansari, a former Muslim litigant in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case, said, “The traditions, laws and systems of our country—all insist that women should be respected. Women should get equal opportunities in politics, so that they can play their role in every sphere of society.”

Let us tell you that this bill was to implementing 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies and taking the delimitation process forward on the basis of 2011 census. The government was trying to make this reservation effective by 2029, but it failed due to not getting two-thirds majority.
