- The lives of young people under the age of 35 are at risk because of just one mistake
- A big revelation from health experts
No matter how much money you earn, the greatest asset is a healthy body. Money can be made anytime and anywhere if your body is healthy. And what is important for a healthy body is proper diet and good lifestyle. If your diet and lifestyle are right, your organs will function properly. If we look at the current time, the problem of liver i.e. liver is most felt in the youth below 5 years of age. Because most of us ignore what is supposed to be done for a healthy liver. Liver diseases are also on the rise among young people under the age of 35. The main reasons behind this are sedentary habits, irregular diet, increased intake of junk food and increased stress. Lack of physical activity and lack of sleep also accelerates the process of fat accumulation in the liver.
Interestingly, not everyone with fatty liver is overweight. Especially in Indians, although the body weight appears normal, fat accumulates around the internal organs. So this disease is not easily noticed and often goes unnoticed. Stress is another important but often neglected factor. Being under constant stress increases levels of the hormone cortisol, which increases fat formation in the liver, slows fat burning, and increases insulin resistance. Which creates a nutrient environment for fatty liver.
The biggest challenge in this disease is the lack of symptoms. Fatty liver is often found during routine check-ups. The disease is often advanced by the time fatigue, restlessness or jaundice appear. Dr. Geeta Billa, Director of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital, Powai. Fatty liver disease can progress to NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis), where inflammation and cell damage starts in the liver. This stage is considered to be the most important warning sign towards cirrhosis. After this, the function of the liver decreases and the ability to remove toxins from the body decreases.

According to recent medical reports, the incidence of fatty liver in India has increased significantly and it is spreading rapidly among the urban youth. Many health surveys have also found elevated liver enzymes in people aged 25–40, which are considered indicators of early liver damage. So experts have called it “silent epidemic”.
Apart from this, according to some new research, lack of sleep and late night eating habits also play an important role in increasing fatty liver. Doctors say that due to the disruption of the circadian rhythm of the body, the fat metabolism decreases and the stress on the liver increases. The good thing is that fatty liver in the early stages is completely cured. A healthy diet, regular exercise, weight control and avoiding alcohol can improve liver health. Also, doing LFT and ultrasound once a year can detect the disease early and prevent serious conditions like cirrhosis.
