John Ternus Apple’s new CEO: Apple, one of the world’s largest tech companies, has decided to make a major change in its top leadership after about 15 years. John Ternes will now take charge of the company in place of current CEO Tim Cook. However, it is not yet known whether Cook will completely separate from the company or he will remain associated with the company’s functioning in some other way.
According to the company, 50-year-old Ternes has been associated with Apple for the last 25 years and has especially played an important role in the development of the iPhone. Since 2025, he was working as the head of hardware engineering. Now from September 1, he will officially take over as the new CEO.
Tim Cook will resign after 15 years
Tim Cook, who has been the CEO for the last 15 years, will now play the role of executive chairman. Cook, 65, will focus on the formulation and implementation of the company’s global strategies. Under this change, Art Levinson will be removed from the post of chairman and made a director.
There has also been a change in the hardware engineering team. Ternes’ longtime deputy, Tom Marib, will become the new chief, reporting to Johnny Srouzi, who was recently given responsibility for the hardware technology group.
Cook praised Turnus a lot
Tim Cook praised Ternus when he was made CEO. He said that Ternus is an excellent engineer and visionary innovator, who has consistently made significant contributions to the company’s progress.
Tim Cook’s tenure has lasted for a record time. Under his leadership, Apple transformed itself from a consumer electronics company into the world’s largest global corporation. During his tenure, the company launched many successful initiatives like Apple Watch, AirPods and Apple Music.
Many of Apple’s projects failed
However, some projects were not as successful as expected, such as Apple Vision Pro and the self-driving car project, which the company put on hold after working on them for years.
Despite this, under the leadership of Tim Cook, Apple continuously experimented and maintained its leading identity in the world of technology. Now the direction of the company’s next phase will be decided under the leadership of John Ternes.
