A three-year-old child was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs at Katnapalli, Sultanbad mandal of Peddapalli district on Monday, Tv9 Telugu said.
The victim identified as Divya Behra, is the daughter of a migrant labourer couple from Odisha who were employed at a brick kiln. The child was playing in front of their rented room when stray dogs attacked her and dragged her away to an agricultural field.
The child died due to multiple injuries on the spot. The shocking incident highlights the unrelenting menace of stray dogs in several villages and poor living conditions of families of migrant labourers in the district.
The body of the victim was shifted to Sultanabad government hospital for post-mortem and was handed back to the parents of the girl.
