Generally, family feedback is the most straightforward mirror for most actors. However, for Abhishek Bachchan, that mirror comes with a pause feature, especially when it’s about his daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. The actor has revealed that he doesn’t ask her what she thinks of his films, not because he’s not interested but because it’s a deliberate decision to keep his artistic freedom safe. Nevertheless, with getting feedback from home, he points out a definite limit, particularly with his daughter.

Why Abhishek Bachchan Doesn’t Ask for Aradhya’s Opinion?

Abhishek explained that knowing Aaradhya’s honest reaction could influence his decisions in ways he wants to avoid. He prefers to keep a sense of uncertainty rather than hearing a fixed opinion that might stay with him while choosing future roles.

He admitted that once someone close shares their thoughts, whether positive or negative, it tends to linger. For him, that could subtly shape how he approaches his work, and he would rather not carry that weight. In simple terms, he chooses to work based on instinct instead of seeking validation at home. 

There is also a personal side to this decision. Abhishek acknowledged that he may not feel ready to hear completely honest feedback from his daughter just yet. Instead, he prefers to imagine what she might think, rather than knowing it for sure. 

His Take on Today’s Generation 

Speaking about children’s expression, Abhishek shared that children today are very clear in articulating their thoughts. They are, as per him, confident, straightforward, and untempered when telling what’s on their minds. He considers this a very good change; however, he also acknowledges that truthfulness to such a degree is almost too much at times. 

For an elder, listening to direct opinions, especially from someone dear, can be quite a digesting problem. He thinks that, honest as it is, love it or not, the truth is not always lovable, especially if one’s work is taken in a personal way. For that reason, he is inclined to work on the projects in which he is passionate, hence the family members’ opinions do not even reach his thoughts at this phase.

At no point in time does he see himself resorting to Aaradhya to guide him in his decision. He did talk about how opinions are subject to change over a period of time. He gave a hint that maybe in the distant future, he will be ready to have that discussion. 

But for now, he is okay with the idea of keeping Aaradhya at arm’s length. In addition, he humorously said that if he doesn’t ask, Aaradhya will probably share her views on the spur of the moment anyway.
