Thailand Updates Visa Fees in India From 27 April 2026; Visa-Free Entry Remains Unchanged

Travellers planning a longer stay in Thailand should note an important update. The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has revised visa fees for several categories, including tourist, non-immigrant, SMART, and long-term resident visas.

The new fee structure will apply from 27 April 2026 onwards at the Royal Thai Embassy and Royal Thai Consulates-General across India.

Here’s the key point: Indian travellers can still enter Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days, and this update does not affect visa-free entry rules.

Visa-Free Entry for Indians Still Available for 60 Days

India remains on Thailand’s visa exemption list. This means:

  • Indian passport holders can travel to Thailand without a visa
  • Stay is allowed for up to 60 days
  • Entry is usually granted for tourism purposes
  • Extension may be possible depending on Thai immigration rules

This visa-free option is ideal for short holidays, quick family trips, or business visits.

The revised fees mainly affect travellers applying for longer stays, multiple-entry visas, work-related visas, or residency options through the Thai Embassy.

Who Needs to Pay These Fees?

Thailand New Visa Fees In India

These charges apply to travellers applying for visas through:

  • Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi
  • Royal Thai Consulates-General in India

You may need a visa if:

  • You plan to stay longer than 60 days
  • You need multiple entries
  • You plan to work, study, invest, or retire in Thailand
  • You are applying for long-term residency programmes

Short-term tourists using the visa-free scheme do not need to pay these visa fees.

What This Means for Travellers

Thailand continues to remain one of the easiest destinations for Indian travellers. The visa-free entry option keeps short trips simple and affordable.

At the same time, the updated fee structure reflects Thailand’s focus on attracting long-term visitors, professionals, and digital nomads.

If you are planning an extended stay, applying early and choosing the right visa category can help avoid delays.

For most holidaymakers, nothing changes. Pack your bags and enjoy up to 60 days in Thailand without a visa.
