LPG Delivery Alert: No Cylinder Without DAC New Mandatory Rules Every Consumer Must Know:

In a significant move to enhance security and streamline the distribution of domestic gas, oil marketing companies have implemented a strict new protocol for LPG cylinder deliveries. If you use a cooking gas connection from Indane, HP, or Bharat Gas, your delivery will now require a Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) to be completed.

What is the New DAC Rule?

The Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) is a one-time security pin designed to ensure that the gas cylinder reaches the correct consumer. Under this new system, the delivery person will no longer simply drop off the cylinder. Instead, they will ask for a unique code that is sent to your registered mobile number. Without providing this code, the delivery will be marked as incomplete in the system.

How the Authentication Process Works

When you book a refill, an SMS containing the DAC is automatically triggered to your registered phone. At the time of delivery, you must share this code with the delivery executive. They will enter it into their mobile application to verify the transaction. Once the code is successfully authenticated, the delivery is finalized, and you receive your cylinder.

What to Do If Your Mobile Number is Not Updated?

A major concern for many consumers is an outdated or incorrect mobile number linked to their LPG ID. If your number is not updated, you will not receive the DAC, leading to delivery failures. To solve this, delivery executives have been equipped with an app that allows them to update your mobile number in real-time. You will need to provide an alternate active number to receive the code instantly and complete the process.

The Goal: Stopping Black Marketing and Theft

The primary objective of this mandatory DAC system is to prevent the illegal diversion of subsidized domestic cylinders for commercial use. By ensuring that every delivery is digitally verified by the actual consumer, the government and oil companies aim to eliminate “ghost” deliveries and ensure that the subsidy reaches the intended beneficiaries without any middleman interference.
