Iran Domestic Flights Resume After 50 Days: Amidst the ongoing tension and shadow of war in the Middle East, a big relief news has come out from Iran. Domestic flight services are going to resume in Iran after a long gap of almost 50 days. It is noteworthy that after the joint air strikes by America and Israel on February 28, strict restrictions were imposed on civil aviation and airspace in the entire country. Now, by relaxing these restrictions, flight operations are being resumed from Wednesday, April 22.
first route of restoration
Tasneem News Agency iran Air has shared information that the first route for domestic flights has been selected from Tehran to Mashhad. Flights will be operated from both directions on this route on Wednesday. As per the scheduled schedule, the first flight number 3502 will take off from Tehran to Mashhad at 10:00 am. Meanwhile, the return flight number 3503 will depart from Mashhad at 12:30 pm on the same day and land at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran.
Steps towards normalcy
This resumption of aviation services is being considered an important sign of gradual normalization of the situation in Iran. Although tension still persists at the ground level, opening of domestic transport shows that the administration is now giving priority to civic amenities. Earlier, last Saturday (April 18), Iran had announced partial opening of its airspace for international flights. According to the Civil Aviation Authority, international air routes, especially those passing through the eastern part of the country, have been reopened.
Caution from international airlines
Even though Iran has reopened many of its airports and air routes, international airlines Still taking steps with full confidence. Even after the authority’s official statement, flight tracker websites claimed that international flights avoided using Iranian airspace in the early hours. This caution is being taken mainly due to the uncertainty of security in the area and the fear of any possible new attack.
Widespread impact of war and diplomacy
It is important to note that this entire crisis is a result of the war that began on February 28, which not only shook Iran’s infrastructure but also paralyzed the entire region’s economy and travel system. Amidst the conflict that has been going on for the last seven weeks, the return of domestic flights has brought great relief to thousands of passengers who were stranded for weeks. Now all eyes are on whether this resumption is only a limited step or services will be started smoothly for other cities also in the coming days.
